White Rose Shopping Centre

Project Summary

Service:

LV Installation

Value:

£750,000

Background

May 2014 saw the re-opening of The Balcony food court at White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds after a £7 million refurbishment project, including the LV electrical installation by Quartzelec’s Manchester business.

The revamp has brought a fresh, contemporary feel with updated customer facilities and many new big-name restaurants joining the 17 existing outlets.

The Project

The project scope for client Morgan Sindall included a complete rewire and refurbishment to the food court and associated facilities, removal and replacement of all redundant light fittings with energy-saving LED lighting, and a new fire alarm and sprinkler system. All work was done on MEWP’s platforms during the night by a team of 12 to minimise both customer and retailer disruption.

The project was carried out exactly to plan and Quartzelec certainly impressed, with two employees securing site safety awards during their time on site.
