Quartzelec’s Manchester business secured from Morgan Sindall a £4.6million framework contract covering four new school projects in the North West.
The four schools are part of the Education Funding Authority’s Priority School Building Programme, a privately-financed school construction initiative which covers design, construction and maintenance over a 25 year period. They are: Ridgeway High School in Preston, Halebank CE (VC) Primary School in Widnes, Dee Point Primary School in Blacon, Cheshire and Bedford Drive Primary School in Birkenhead.
The framework contract work scope includes; HV and LV supply, all lighting and emergency lighting, power, data, fire alarms and security – in the form of CCTV, intruder detection and access control. Also included are the provision of gas and ventilation; delivery of hot and cold water services, sanitary ware and all above ground drainage.
