Technical Sales Manager


Quartzelec is a leading UK independent electrical engineering group delivering design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.

Reporting to the Business Manager we are now looking to recruit an experienced Tendering Sales Manager with experience in accounting to work at our site in Malaysia.

  

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Overseeing sales channels, including distributors and the Quartzelec Business Unit within the designated region, in addition to direct customer engagement
  • Identifying and cultivating new sales channels within targeted markets
  • Collaborating with the Quartzelec International Sales team and offshore sales offices to enhance synergies
  • Delivering technical and commercial support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively promoting and supporting the sales of Quartzteq products by routinely visiting key customers, facilitating the sales channels, and actively participating in industry exhibitions
  • Ensuring business growth by consistently achieving or surpassing established budgetary targets within the assigned market
  • Monitoring and enhancing the performance of sales channels to drive optimal outcome
  • Fostering robust relationships and effective collaboration with sales channel partners and customers to deliver comprehensive global condition monitoring solutions
  • Ensuring the efficient handling of inquiries, issuance of quotations through Quartzteq, and conducting contract reviews in accordance with defined standards and procedures
  • Coordinating service offerings for projects in collaboration with Quartzteq and Quartzelec offices
  • Leading after-sales activities for the region and addressing technical and commercial inquiries from customers, in collaboration with Quartzteq’s internal organisational resources
  • Negotiating and finalising contracts with sales channels on behalf of Quartzteq, adhering to established guidelines and acceptable profit margins
  • Providing technical service support as required, which may include overseeing the installation and commissioning of Quartzteq condition monitoring solutions, delivering training sessions, and assisting in the creation of Condition Monitoring reports, contingent upon technical proficiency or additional training
  • Tracking significant opportunities, comprehending the associated business processes, and coordinating sales efforts as necessary to secure contracts
  • Monitoring and analysing market potential, competitive activities, and sales channel performance to inform product offerings and marketing strategies in collaboration with the Business Manager and Product Manager
  • Ensuring all leads, opportunities, and proposals are accurately recorded and updated in the system
  • Contributing to product forecasts and the sales budget preparation process
  • Providing comprehensive feedback on business trips through the submission of visit reports
  • Coordinating and supporting marketing activities to bolster product visibility and sales engagement

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

We invite applications from individuals who possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant qualification within the Electrical/Electronic discipline. Candidates with demonstrable industry experience in partial discharge will also be considered

  • Proficient knowledge of partial discharge is advantageous
  • Relevant working experience in the electrical rotating equipment sector
  • Previous experience in an international sales role is preferred
  • Proven track record of managing distribution channel partners
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective at all organisational levels, both internal and external
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with negotiation skills and relevant experience
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Self-motivated individual with well-developed organisational capabilities
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential; knowledge of Chinese is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions is highly desirable
