The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the production process of the Lifeview condition monitoring product range. This includes planning, organising, and supervising to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet all specifications. Additionally, the Production Engineer will support process improvements and cost control initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Collaborating with Quartzteq and the operations team to plan manpower and material supply for upcoming work scopes
- Supervising the assembly team on a daily basis and aligning priorities with business and Quartzteq requirements
- Ensuring timely completion and budget adherence of Quartzteq product orders, meeting quality standards and targets
- Assisting in quality control, including Root Cause Analysis and quality audits
- Controlling costs and purchase orders for materials and additional works, ensuring all additional works are charged to the project
- Ensure proper documentation and packaging for all orders
- Supporting all manufacturing activities
- Ensure all products / projects meet or exceed expected margins
- Conducting assembly and product training within the department to ensure tasks are completed safely and in accordance with quality standards
- Managing and maintaining stock levels
- Ensuring the proper operation of test equipment and tools
- Ensuring accurate production records are kept and updated
- Prioritising safety in all activities within the assembly area
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
- At least 5 years proven track record within the electro-mechanical industry with some knowledge of Production Engineering in an industrial environment
- Highly motivated self-starter with a passion and interest in serving customers and exceeding expectations
- Interpersonal skills at all organisation levels, the ability to motivate people and engender a culture of team working to achieve the aims of the business
- Proven manufacturing knowledge and experience
- The ability to work under pressure
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with assembly and testing of similar products
- Qualifications such as an HNC level, City and Guilds, or equivalent in Electro-mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of electronics and software
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar industry
