Factory Supervisor (Navy)


The Navy factory working Supervisor is to oversee the daily operations and ensure the efficient running of the Naval Workshop, supporting both the production process and team performance.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Take ownership of the factory build process for new products in the Naval Business
  • Manage daily workshop activities, including workload, labour allocation, and material handling
  • Support the Naval Management team and fulfil management responsibilities during the absence of the manager or when they are out of the office
  • Promote and exemplify a “Safety First” and “Good Housekeeping” culture
  • Understand and convey to the team the significance of a quality-focused approach, emphasising “right first time” and “on-time delivery” principles
  • Ensure that every step undertaken is documented for quality assurance purposes
  • Encourage and motivate team members by clearly articulating objectives and identifying opportunities for further training or skill development
  • Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects
  • Serve as a liaison between the factory and engineering teams
  • Assist with problem-solving, and oversee work to ensure compliance with quality standards and guidelines
  • Generate and share detailed reports on team performance, objectives, and deadlines for the annual performance review process
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving complaints
  • Maintain responsibility for the equipment and plant in your designated area, focusing on continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

The successful applicant will possess:

  • A qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven expertise in operating large rotating plant machinery
  • Extensive experience within the large rotating plant industry
  • A commitment to continuous academic training in leadership and management, with a strong willingness to engage in ongoing coaching and mentorship
